The Production Manager leads, directs and controls all production activities of the plant in Puurs in order to achieve the short- and long-term operational targets in a SQDCM logic.

Together with the full operations management team, the Production Manager is responsible for operational results in the areas of HSE, direct and indirect cost related to the production activities, reliability, quality, schedule adherence and morale.  As a member of the operations management team, the Production Manager works with others on the strategy, on achieving these targets and on the development of a high performance culture within the manufacturing plant. He/she coaches and directs his/her direct (9) & indirect (130) reports in order to implement and maintain these strategies.

He/she initiates and continuous improvement projects and leads several multidisciplinary teams working on this.

The Operations Manager is reporting directly to the Operations Director.

Key Resposibilities:

– 50%  Delivering daily results in operational excellence culture monitored in a SQDCM culture. Developing and managing a sound data-driven culture with daily and weekly performance reporting.

– 20% coaching, developing and monitoring of the direct reports (including training).

– 10% together with the plant management team, developing and implementing a high performance and high quality, continuous improvement culture in manufacturing.  Motivating all production workers to contribute to this culture.

– 10% cross-functional contacts.

– 10% managing the manpower plan.



  • Master Degree in technical discipline, desired Engineer
  • Minimum 10 years manufacturing experience
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Knowledge of project management
  • Creativity and Flexibility in his/her way of thinking
  • Must have the ability to interact with team members at all levels in the organisation, as well as senior leadership across multiple functions.
  • Hands on profile, not afraid to jump in and practical mindset
  • Result driven, able to focus and keep calm at all time.
  • Proven experience in working with the unions in the organization.
  • Must have the ability to influence the direction of the site and align and engage resources that are outside their area of responsibility.
  • Must have solid training, coaching and influencing skills to ensure team success.
  • Must demonstrate strategic thought leadership
  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple projects through sustained completion
  • Languages : fluent in Dutch and English
