Atlas Copco Business Services is a global service provider dedicated to delivering high quality services in the areas of Finance and Accounting, IT/IS, HR Administration, Non Core Purchasing and Project Management to the different Business Areas within the Atlas Copco Group. The Business Services organization currently has around more than 1000 employees worldwide (+100 in Belgium), supporting 32.000 users in more than 75 countries and offering their services to approximately 370 operational units.

The GPS (Group Performance System) reporting system (SAP BPC) is the key component for the legal and operational reporting of the Atlas Copco Group. As part of the legal reporting, Atlas Copco is committed to send its data each quarter to the stock market. Failing to do so would have a major impact on the stock value and therefore the GPS system needs to be considered one of the most critical systems inside Atlas Copco.

The purpose of the GPS Development team is to secure and introduce new functional requirements into the system and improve the overall quality, efficiency and availability of Atlas Copco’s reporting system (GPS).


Mission of the Group Consolidation and Systems team which is part of Business Services 

  • To stay in the forefront of external and internal requirements and adapt group reporting structure accordingly.
  • Provide excellent analysis to all stakeholders, external as well as internal, such as Group functions, Business Areas and their units, current and future employees
  • To constantly develop a state of the art consolidation process via efficient systems and innovative analytical tools and by that support the Group sustainable profitable growth.
  • To safeguard professional development within the function.


What are your Responsibilities and objectives?

The Functional Architect role focuses on the following (but is not strictly limited to):

  • Implementing new functionality into group’s consolidation system as per internal customer’s requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with existing internal (The Way We Do Things) and external (IFRS) standards
  • Following applicable development and change processes to ensure reliable and high-quality delivery
  • Delivering detailed documentation and full knowledge handover to other support teams


What Experience is required?

  • Experience in gathering functional requirements and ability to translate those into detailed specifications
  • Experience in financial group reporting, preferably including legal as well as operational reporting
  • Basic knowledge in accounting rules like IFRS and Atlas Copco’s reporting instructions according to FAM
  • Prior experience in similar position is considered a plus


What Knowledge do you bring?

  • Fluent in English, both in writing and speaking
  • Basic project management skills to drive projects/small taskforces and work closely with other support teams
  • Familiarity with financial consolidation/planning tools (SAP BPC is preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and familiarity with VBA is a plus
  • Basic familiarity with SQL language (MDX and ABAP knowledge are a welcome asset)
  • Basic familiarity with ETL principles/solutions is a plus
  • Technical knowledge in consolidation tools (preferably SAP BPC on NetWeaver), familiarity with SAP products (ECC, BW, SAP HANA, EPM/Analysis for Office) and/or other OLAP/data warehouse solutions is a plus


What are the educational requirements?

  • University degree in Finance and Business Administration (or equivalent through experience)
  • Certification in any area listed in the previous section is a welcome asset
