Job Description:

A unique challenge for a Commercial Engineer

  • You proactively research and pursue new business and sales opportunities through networking, social media and cold calling.
  • You meet with potential clients to determine their needs.
  • You contact international agencies and seek funding.
  • You build and maintain relationships with clients and prospects.
  • You set up meetings with clients and listen to their needs, concerns and translate those into convincing proposals.
  • You are continuously aware of trends, competitors and international environmental policies to identify improvements and recommend new services.
  • You work together with senior management to develop and adjust the sales vision and strategy when needed.
  • You translate the sales strategy into milestones and clear actions.
  • You take signals from the market place and adjust the sales strategy as needed in agreement with senior management.
  • You report to the Sales Director.

Profile: 

Profile and on the job characteristics

  • You have a Msc in one of the following fields: biology, physics, hydraulic engineering, hydrology, bio-engineering, industrial engineering, commercial engineering, anthropology.
  • Very fluent in English both spoken and written
  • You have minimum 3 years of experience as a sales person in the energy industry.
  • You are a good communicator on various levels (CEO’s, ministers, organizations, engineers, legal…).
  • You are resourceful: you solve problems on the spot and can turn small resources into large levers.
  • You are willing to travel to remote areas (Turbulent provides the necessary safety and security measures).
  • You are not afraid to ask for help and assistance, or to lose face. You are able to deal with criticism coming from clients, and to seek how to turn that into a business advantage.
  • Landing a profitable deal is what gets you going.
  • You will not be complacent after a success or two: you’re always eager for more and you’re not easily satisfied. You have a high dose of perseverance: you do not take “no” for an answer and you do not feel hindered by obstacles, or lack of resources.
  • You take responsibility and do not blame others but learn from mistakes and mishaps.
  • You are open and broad minded: not limited in your thinking and actions by dogmas (cultural, religious, nor even ecological).

Experience

  • Multicultural experience
  • Work experience abroad and well travelled
  • Commercial experience, with a proven track record of striking deals
  • Practical knowledge of the SDGs
